Condition: Car runs well and is a good candidate for restoration. There are some small dents (pictured). Exterior chrome trim is all there, but one piece no longer attached, however I have it. Top was replaced in 2017 but still leaks at door top. Super fun to drive. Just want it to live someplace better for a convertible. Interior is as pictured, there are a couple of stains on the seats but I think they'd clean up well. The passenger seat needs a new cable to flip forward. The seat tracks are a bit gummy. The trunk leaks as well that just started this year. Please ask questions if you have any. We want to get this car into the right hands.

For sale is our 1989 VW Cabriolet Convertible Karman edition with sweet plaid seats. It's been a fun car to own, we love taking it for drives in the country and to the local vineyards. There is no feeling like driving this little car with the top down.
Runs and drives well. Doesn't seem to burn oil, though the oil light does seem to come on when its super-hot in the summer. I would have that checked out.
I think a new seal between the top of the windshield frame and the convertible top would help the leak as there is a piece of rubber missing so you can see light through it. They are available through two online shops for less than 0.
It's a 30+ year old car that's not been restored but would be a great candidate for a restoration. Though we have taken it on some long day trips I would recommend trailering it to any distant destination BC of the oil light.
