Our researches show this 126 years old antique Erard grand piano shipped to Australia at 1895 to Australian importer R.J Palling Melbourne. And artcase designed in Australia by a furniture design company for a movie, theatre and opera musical show. This MOVIE PROP , exceptionally beautiful, antique grand piano is in perfect condition for it's age.  The Erard mechanism is all original.
Erard pianos were favoured by Haydin, Beethoven, Mendelssohn, Liszt, and Paderewski.
Erard has been acclaimed for pianos of the highest quality.
The two great French makers of pianos who were also at the cutting edge of piano development during the nineteenth century were Ignace Pleyel and Sebastien Erard, the latter being responsible for the invention of the double escapement mechanism that became part of the modern form of piano action.
It is also uncommon to see older French pianos in Australia as the market was dominated initially by the English and then later in the nineteenth century by the German manufacturers. However, the Australian retail music firm of R.J Paling was an importer of French pianos and was given an award at the 1879 Sydney International Exhibition for importing pianos from France.
