    Description

You are bidding on a VERY RARE and BOXED example of a WW2 Imperial Japanese Navy Type 2 Navigational Sextant, as used in many aircraft, as well as warships, including destroyers, cruisers, battleships and submarines!
This navy Sextant was used by the navigator to create an artificial horizon and thus help achieve accurate bearings.
    Made of aluminum and steel,
this is an EXCELLENT Japanese Sextant in all original condition (New Old Stock).
Almost identical to the US Types, it dates later in the war, around 1945.
Some slight marks and scratches, but nothing that takes away from the overall appearance.
It measures approx. 11.5" in length, and features no breaks, cracks, or damage!
Comes complete with the original adjustment tools, eyepiece; filter; and light bulbs!  Note that the filter is still wrapped in the original paper, proving this was never used.  Sadly, the rubber on the eyepiece has hardened over time and is cracked/broken.
The adjustment knobs is stuck, so it will need some attention in order to make functional.  Optics are dirty and need to be cleaned.  Data plate information matches the information on the box.
The box is in excellent used condition, and retains all instruction labels internally.  Some wear, marks, and scratches, due to the age, but nothing that detracts.
Would make a FANTASTIC addition to any collection, or display!

Most of my items are vintage, and as such are AS-IS, so you must therefore expect a degree of wear due to age and/or usage. I will describe each auction to the best of my knowledge and take as many photos necessary to ensure you are pleased upon receiving your item. All sales are final, so please make sure your questions are answered to your satisfaction before you purchase.
    ------------------- ABOUT ME -----------------
Although my passion is the Me109, I do offer many other German Aircraft (Fw190, Me262, etc.), as well as USAF and Japanese items. Occasionally I do offer many non-vintage items such as prints and art relating to the time period. As a private collector myself, I am constantly on the lookout for historical memorabilia, authentic photographs, artwork or anything unique relating to military aircraft.
